I have always loved being outdoors and on holidays as a child would go hiking in the alps with my dad. At secondary school I started running and joined a running club, where I ran in the 1500m and cross-country races. I loved it and remember my running coach once telling me I always ran with a smile on my face.
However, somewhere between going to university, starting work and having a family (3 inspiring girls) the running and being outside got a bit lost. But on holiday I would always love to go walking and I remember at parties I would find myself alone outside staring at the stars.
Then during a stressful season of life in 2016 I started running again and discovered the joy of trail running!
I didn't even know but there were miles of footpaths I could run on within 20 minutes of my home. Beautiful paths through fields, forests and a country park. After a spectacular fall in the mud and embarrassingly having to run another 30minutes home, I invested in my first trail shoes _ my INOV-8 Roclite's which are still my favourites.
My passion for running in nature grew and in 2017 I ran my first trail half-marathon and fell runs (running up steep hills in England) and my first trail marathon in 2018.
It wasn't until 2022 that I started to dream bigger and wondered if I could go on a solo adventure in nature. That dream didn't become reality until a year later, in 2023 when I did a solo wild camp in Chamonix (see photo opposite) and camped/ran the Dutch Mountain Trail. See my adventures page for more info!
I used to live in England but have now lived in Haarlem, Netherlands, for four years. I live in the city but within 30 minutes of the national parks and sea which is the perfect combination.
I love ramen, Studio Ghibli, reading, video games (especially Zelda & Metroid), barefoot shoes, forests and mountains.

I am a massage therapist, helping people feel good in their bodies brings me a lot of joy and I find the anatomy side fascinating.
